Understanding platform fees on all sales

# Transaction Fees

Learn how Deiza's transaction fees work when you sell products and services.

Fee Structure by Plan

| Plan | Transaction Fee | Payment Methods |

|------|-----------------|-----------------|

| Starter | 5% | External links (PayPal, Gumroad, etc.) |

| Grow | 2% | Stripe, Paystack, Lemon Squeezy + External |

| Scale | 0% | Stripe, Paystack, Lemon Squeezy + External |

How Fees Work

Deiza charges a platform fee on all confirmed sales, regardless of payment method. This includes external payment links, bank transfers, cash, or any other method.

Transaction-Based Fee Tracking

When you receive any payment (sale, donation, membership, tip, etc.):

  • Customer completes payment via your checkout or payment link
  • A transaction is recorded in your dashboard
  • You confirm payment received in the Transactions dashboard
  • Platform fee is calculated and added to your monthly bill

  • This ensures fair fee tracking across ALL revenue types and payment methods.

    Starter Plan (Free)

  • Use external checkout links (PayPal, Gumroad, bank transfer, etc.)
  • Track all revenue types: sales, donations, memberships, tips
  • 5% platform fee on all confirmed transactions
  • Upgrade to Grow for direct integrations and lower fees

  • Example: Customer pays $100 via PayPal → You receive $100, then pay Deiza $5 fee

    Grow Plan ($29/month)

  • Direct integration with Stripe, Paystack, or Lemon Squeezy
  • 2% platform fee on all confirmed transactions
  • Automatic payment tracking via webhooks
  • Still works with external links too

  • Example: Customer pays $100 → You receive $98 (after 2% fee)

    Scale Plan ($59/month)

  • All Grow features with 0% platform fees
  • Best value for high-volume sellers

  • How Fees Are Charged

Deiza uses a usage-based billing model similar to Vercel and AWS:

  • Automatic tracking: Every transaction through your connected payment processor is tracked
  • Monthly billing: Accumulated fees are charged to your card on file at the end of each month
  • Threshold billing: If fees exceed $50, they may be charged earlier
  • Transparent invoices: You receive itemized invoices for all fee charges

  • Fee Calculation Examples

    Grow Plan Examples (2%)

    | Transaction | Your Revenue | Platform Fee (2%) |

    |-------------|--------------|-------------------|

    | $50 sale | $49 | $1 |

    | $100 sale | $98 | $2 |

    | $500 sale | $490 | $10 |

    | $1,000 sale | $980 | $20 |

    When to Upgrade: Break-even Analysis

    | Monthly Sales | Grow ($29 + 2%) | Scale ($59 + 0%) | Best Option |

    Reducing Your Fees

Option 1: Upgrade to Grow ($29/month)

Get direct payment integration with only 2% platform fee.

Option 2: Upgrade to Scale ($59/month)

If you process more than $1,500/month, upgrading to Scale with 0% fees is the best value.

    Frequently Asked Questions

When am I charged for fees?

Fees are charged at the end of each billing cycle (monthly) or when accumulated fees exceed $50, whichever comes first.

How do I see my accumulated fees?

Go to Settings > Billing to view your current fee balance and transaction history.

What payment method is used for fees?

Fees are charged to the same card you use for your Deiza subscription.

    Are payment processor fees included?

No. Deiza's platform fee (5%/2%/0% depending on plan) is separate from Stripe/Paystack/Lemon Squeezy's own processing fees (typically 2.9% + $0.30).

Can I get a refund on fees if a customer refunds?

Yes. If you refund a customer, the associated platform fee is credited back to your account.
